Thoughts on arts funding

"The arts have been proven essential to overall health and well being of the public at large.  Personally, I have found dance to be one of the few things that helped a chronic health condition so I would not be a burden to the health care system. The therapeutic value alone is priceless. Crimson Coast in particular has included my dance form in some of their annual festivals and that inclusion has meant a lot to me for a sense of community.

In difficult times, the arts are even more important to the people to help ease their worries. Live performance is unparalleled in the positive effects it has on people who attend these events. Artists need a creative outlet to express their skills, many have been devoted to the arts for most of their lives. They are an important part of our society. Whether an outdoor festival, stage show, street performance, workshop setting, these things are much are needed and should be upheld as important priorities in society and in funding budgets".
