In the spirit of all her creations for hum, Susanna Hood will offer a workshop to nurture exploration, personal discovery, and delving deeply into the unknown through movement and sound.

This workshop will be open to dancers, actors, teachers, therapists and the general public 15 years of age and older and at any level of experience.

October 3 from 11 am to 2 pm

FALLING AND RISING; GRACE AND WILDNESS
Contact Improvisation workshop (All levels)

We will fall and rise with grace, learning to release our body and breath. Finding support from the floor and our partner, we will explore connections between others and ourselves. We will dare to dive in the moment, engage with the consequences of our actions and notice the process of holding on and letting go. We will learn to trust, play off-balance, get wild..., fly, catch, drop, roll, spiral and spin. This work is not about teaching a style. Everyone has his own world of possibilities. This is what needs to be revealed.

ISABELLE KIROUAC
Born in Quebec, Isabelle Kirouac is a performance artist, trained in Contact Improvisation, physical theater, somatics, butoh, acrobatic stilts, and music. Over the last years, Isabelle has been presenting her own work internationally, as well as collaborating with The Carpetbag Brigade Physical Theatre (San Francisco), Body Research (San Francisco) and Theater Junction (Calgary). She teaches Contact Improvisation and acrobatic stilts regularly to professionals and community members. Isabelle has been one of the main instructor and choreographer for the Still Moon Performance Arts Festival (Vancouver), and performed and taught at numerous festivals, including the Israeli Contact Improvisation Festival (Israel), the Forum International de Las Culturas de Monterrey (Mexico), Symposium Imagining Bodies (Estonia), Festival Temps d’Images (Canada), Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Scotland), etc. She also danced in the work of Superamas (France-Austria), Felix Ruckert (Germany), and Flam Chen Pyrotechnic Theater (USA).
